The OECD hosted an online discussion on the stocktaking report of Armenia’s policy frameworks for climate change adaptation and resilience in agriculture, especially horticulture, and future programme activities.

Participants included the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Environment of Armenia as well as the PROGRESS programme Consortium Partners.

The discussion highlighted Armenia’s progress in the policy frameworks, including new or revised policy programmes, legislative initiatives and institutional developments. Participants also brought up challenges such as institutional capacity, farmer engagement, land use change, early warning systems and desertification. EU frameworks for climate change adaptation and Armenia’s alignment with them were also discussed.

The Ministries agreed to provide the OECD with two priority policy areas for targeted policy development support in future project activities.
