GIZ Armenia’s environmental team initiated a sustainable products expo at CBD COP17 in Yerevan.
PROGRESS programme invited farmers and agribusinesses to showcase their products, which were produced using climate-smart and sustainable practices. Participating beneficiaries presented a diverse selection of products, including fresh and dried fruits, various processed items, vegetables, and wine. The event provided beneficiaries with a unique opportunity to showcase their products to both local and international COP17 attendees.
Highlighting the impact of the initiative, Deputy Minister of Economy Mr. Arman Khojoyan visited the expo to discuss production and sales aspects while observing the initial results of the PROGRESS programme's support in Armenia.
The expo bridged biodiversity and agriculture, highlighting the need for sustainable and climate-resilient farming practices for biodiversity conservation among the public and showing its feasibility in Armenia.
