The Ukrainian authorities have asked PROGRESS to support a Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (CRVA) of four horticultural value chains (apples, walnuts, strawberries and raspberries) to help adaptation planning for the agricultural sector.

These products were selected by the main implementing partner of the project, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), in consultation with the Government of Ukraine based on several factors, including their environmental impact and economic potential.

Following a market consultation, the company Egis was selected to carry out the CRVA, which will include four crop-specific reports and one synthesis report. The draft reports are expected by mid‑2026, and the final reports by the end of 2026.
