The PROGRESS Policy Dialogue brought together representatives from Moldovan public institutions, financial sector actors, international organisations and development partners to examine financing frameworks for climate change adaptation and resilience in agriculture, with a particular focus on the stone fruits and nuts sub-sectors.
Organised by the OECD under the PROGRESS project, the event presented findings from a stocktaking of public and private financing instruments in Moldova and facilitated an exchange on gaps, opportunities and priority actions to strengthen access to finance. Discussions addressed the role of public support schemes, banking and insurance solutions, risk-sharing mechanisms and sustainable finance in mobilising investment for climate-resilient agriculture.
The Dialogue concluded with a discussion on next steps under PROGRESS, highlighting the importance of coordinated policy action, institutional cooperation and targeted financial frameworks to support Moldova’s transition towards a more resilient and competitive agricultural sector.
