Our Vision & Goals

The project “Promoting Green Deal Readiness in the Eastern Partnership Countries” (PROGRESS) supports Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine in their transition toward climate-oriented, resilient, and green economic development, aligning agricultural and environmental practices with the principles of the European Green Deal. By fostering innovative technologies, tools, and methodologies, PROGRESS accelerates sustainability, strengthens climate resilience, and enables long-term greenhouse gas mitigation, all underpinned by improved framework conditions. Its vision is to contribute to long-term climate mitigation and sustainable development in line with the EU Green Deal objectives and the Paris Agreement’s 1.5°C pathways across the Eastern Partnership countries.

Objectives

Building on this vision, PROGRESS focuses on the following objectives:

  • Strengthen policy frameworks by supporting the development of evidence-based national strategies and aligning regulatory systems with EU standards and the principles of the European Green Deal.
  • Promote sustainable business practices by assisting farmers and enterprises in adopting climate-smart approaches that improve productivity while protecting the environment and ensuring long-term food security.
  • Raise public awareness and engagement by increasing citizens’ understanding of green economic measures, promoting eco-friendly choices, and ensuring inclusive participation, particularly of women leaders, in the green transition.
  • Facilitate access to green finance by improving opportunities for farmers and businesses to use environmentally responsible financial services and supporting the creation of innovative green financial products.
  • Foster regional cooperation by enabling knowledge exchange and replication of successful practices among Eastern Partnership countries to achieve a broader and more sustainable impact.
