Green Finance
The project supports the EaP countries in improving access to finance for strengthening climate resilience of agriculture. Analyses include the assessments of existing financial instruments and the institutional arrangements for providing finance in the EaP region and the identification of ways to facilitate access to these resources, better use of existing finance and mobilise additional financial resources, domestically and from international sources, both public and private. Analyses also aim to highlight and disseminate relevant experiences and good practices from the European Union and the OECD countries.
The project also supports capacity-building activities with tailored modules for financial service providers to enable them to better understand the benefits of climate-oriented, resilient, and green investments and to increase climate adaptation projects in their portfolios.
Gender-specific needs of farmers and businesses are important part of analysis to ensure the design and delivery of dedicated programmes to enhance their financial literacy.
As part of this work, selected local support structures provide technical assistance and guidance in preparing funding applications for climate-oriented, resilient and green investments.
